Oh, the heads that turn when I drive by in this gorgeous
1956 Packard Caribbean Convertible!  I’d drive this car
anywhere without hesitation, whether around town or on a
road trip.  The V-8 engine hums.  The Ultramatic push-
button transmission is smooth.  The power options work –
including the top, windows, air ride suspension, and dual
rear antennas.  The new American Classic whitewall radials
have less than 100 miles on them and are a perfect
complement to the chrome wire wheels.  The tri-color
interior matches the exterior paint and features boat-style
reversible cushion backs.

Condition: The car gets excellent attention, and is in nice
running order.  I’d call this a great #2, because I do drive
and enjoy it – this car is no trailer queen!  I have no doubt
that this car could win a local show without even trying.  If
you’d like to show it regionally, there are a few things that
would make it even better, like replacement of some of the
weather stripping, but those things are minor.  The bottom
line is that this is wonderful example of a rare and fabulous

Given that this car is so rare, I believe that it would make an
excellent addition to a museum, just as it is.  The 1956
Packard Caribbean Convertible is a masterpiece of design
and luxury.  1956 marked the final year for Packard’s full-
size vehicles.  (Packard did produce cars for two more
model years, but those cars featured a Studebaker chassis.)
The gorgeous 1956 Caribbean Convertible allowed Packard
to truly go out in style.  Its glamorous styling, complete with
lots of chrome and tri-tone color schemes, is admired even
today.  I have no idea how many of these cars are still
around, let alone how many look this good.  What a thrill it is
to be able to drive such a great example of automotive
